I am the return of American frickin Gladiators...

Of Rolly Polies and childhood memories...
I remember back in the day when I used to collect these little suckers. They were always so interesting to me. Little pill-lookin bugs with legs that just run around and rolling up into a ball when in danger. I would actually pit them against other bugs like ants and spiders and unfortunately, they always lost. I guess strength in numbers is true even in the insect world. I thought the spider would like web all those suckers, spider-man style. Anyway, I was smoking the other day and I was watching a rolly poly walkin around in the grass. I'm not really sure what those things do, look for food, just walk around or what...but it was funny to watch it. It would keep falling off blades of grass and just keep going, it would land upside down, right itself up and then get right on goin again. How clumsy of a bug is that? Just fallin all over the place? Maybe it was a little kid rolly poly and was still learnin how to move around? Or maybe it was drunk, he he he, drunk bugs, that's a funny thought. Must be nice to have that exo-skeleton to protect you from falls like that..I would have to equate the falls it was taking to 2 or 3-story falls from us. That would be cool. It's actually cooler to just be able to climb straight up on things like bugs can. But yeah, goin back to the first line, I remember when I used to collect these little suckers. How simple life was back then...my day consisted of going outside and running like there was no tomorrow and then collecting bugs and pitting bug-wars in a jar. Ahhh, the simplicity of childhood...just for one day, I wish I could go back...
Of songs and of love...
Shit has been SO busy lately I totally forgot to write about this. There was this old man that used to sing at my church that came about a month ago. All they told us was that he was gonna sing some meditation song, the Panis Angelicus, which is a very awesome song, especially when someone who can really sing sings it. He was about 84 years old, and was somewhat frail looking; he had a cane and had to have his daughter help him around when he was walking. So the choir is thinking, wow, that's cool that he's gonna sing. When he was about to come on, we asked him to come over to where the mics were at, and he said he didn't need one. WOAH, I thought, no mic? That's gonna be hard for everyone to hear him. So the organ goes, and his line starts...BANG! He belts out the first few notes like they were nothing. It was absolutely amazing...his ability to project was incredible, and he sang it w/ such feeling and emotion. Now, I've been a lot more emotional since the summer started, and I have to say I teared up a bit when he was singing. After he was done, we had to give him a big ovation, because it was just simply beautiful. And then we found out from the Pastor that it was his wife's 14th-year death anniversary, and he sang it for her...there is so much beauty in music...there really is. And I wish more people could have witnessed it.
Anyway, better get back to work...work work work....
